Blanche & were living in Melrose Texas when he was shot and
killed by a local man who wanted to date Blanche. Uncle Ben
refused as she was only 16 years old and the man was 31.He
had been married before and divorced...they didn't feel he
was the kind of person they wanted her connected to. But he
just kept coming around. One day he arrived with a gun and
when Uncle Ben tried to run him off, he shot Ben and killed
him. His name was Jim Fore. He did go to prison for this
crime but only served one year.
