His full name was Alexander Patterson Ward Richmond, although he was always called Ward. He was born 20 Jan 1809 in Rhode Island, New York or Scotland -- take your pick! He was married to Elizabeth (Betsey) Deyarmond and they raised 5 kids in Livingston, Washtenaw & Kalamazoo Counties, last living in Vicksburg/Brady Township. Ward committed suicide on 20 May 1868 in Vicksburg. His wife died of typhoid fever the next year, on 15 Aug 1869 and she is buried with him.

He has a new marker & an original marker. The original marker has been broken & is sunk into the ground a bit. Not very legible. The new marker was placed by a descendant.
