Janet Lynn McKinney Allman, age 55, of Penrose, N.C. passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at her residence following a long and hard fought battle with cancer. She was born in Henderson County on September 8, 1959 to Joe Everette McKinney and the late Reba Ann Barnwell McKinney. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandson, William Ezra Allman IV.

Mrs. Allman was a member of Crab Creek Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served as an AWANA leader for over 25 years. She was a member of the Crab Creek Community Club and was employed with Kanuga Conferences for 30 years. She was a woman so strong yet humble, who had a positive impact on each person she came in contact with.

In addition to her father, she was survived by her loving husband of 37 years, William “Bill” Allman, Jr; her son, William “Trey” Allman III and his wife, Alicia; two grandchildren, Clara and Rett Allman; and her brother, Jeff McKinney and his wife, Sandy.

The funeral service was held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Crab Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Brad Knox and Reverend Shannon Owen officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
