Robert Graham was born in the borough of Butler in 1807, son of Robert and Sarah (Brown) Graham. His father located on the site of Butler in 1797. Robert Graham was reared upon his fathers homestead and after reaching manhood he engaged in the manufacturing of brick and as a contractor in the erection of buildings. Robert married Sarah A. Wigfield whose parents were pioneers of Clinton County. There were nine children, Eliza J. deceased wife of Theodore Huselton,; James H.; Wilson W,; Mary Caroline deceased wife of Arthur Hays,; Matilda S. who married William Kennedy,; Thomas Jefferson.; and three that died in early youth. Mrs. Graham died May 17th, 1861 and Robert died in August of 1873 at age 66 years.
