Shirley Barnhart, 68, of Martinsburg, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, in Wesley Chapel, Fla.

Born April 3, 1946, in Winchester, Va., she was the daughter of the late Clyde W. Vance Sr. and Frances Louise Minnick Vance.

She was a 1964 graduate of James Wood High School.

She worked many years with her husband at Barnhart's Supermarket.

Shirley had begun her career at Grand Union Supermarket; after later marrying Roger Barnhart, she joined him in the business as a corporate secretary with Barnhart's Supermarket and Roger's County Market.

Upon her retirement in 2009, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Roger L. Barnhart; one son, Richard "Richie" Wisecarver and wife, Candy, of Martinsburg; two stepdaughters, Kim Ramsburg and Mike, and Tammy Lamp and Doug; the love of her life her grandchildren, Trey and Abby Wisecarver, Brooke Shelton, Jamie McDonald, Amber Barnhart, and Jason and Jeff Ramsburg; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Clyde Vance Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Winchester; one sister, Barbara Hostler and husband, Jimmy, of Winchester; numerous nieces and nephews; and her close and dear friends, Lori Molden and Terri Saurin, and her many bowling and golfing friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Smith; and four sisters, JoAnne Anderson, Jean Cooke, Rebecca Belford and Nancy Corbin.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Assembly of God with Pastor Ralph Campbell, Pastor Arnold Brown, and Pastor Steven Strickland officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Assembly of God, 2010 Tavern Road, Martinsburg, WV 25401.
