Alberry was an herb doctor and he had an herb prescription for treating cancer. The last that Goldie Hardin heard was that her aunt Sallie (Sis) Lipscomb Satterfield had the written prescription. He actually operated on a lady once and removed a cancer from her breast. She remembered someone saying that he put the cancer in a jar. (Source: Great-grandaughter, Goldie Hardin Knox )

Sallie "Sis" Lipscomb Satterfield told her children about seeing her grandfather Alberry Lipscomb in his later years sitting in a chair to pick cotton. She also related another story to her children as follows: When Alberry and Elizabeth Jane were younger they were standing by a well and they made an agreement with each other, that the one that died first would let the other one know how it was. After his wife's death he would ride by that same well on his way home at night. One night as he rode by the well a light shined just on him, nowhere else. It shined on him all the way home. Bill ( Dees) Satterfield also remembers his g-grandfather Alberry riding a horse to see his patients. He had been to see a patient the night he became very ill himself. Bill remembers seeing them carrying Alberry from a buggy into their house where he later died. (Source: Bill Satterfield)
