Florence Belle Wills Tatman was born in Hardensburg (now Hayden), Jennings county, Indiana, to Milton and Rachel (Gould) Wills. At 18, she moved to Watseka, Illinois, where she married Pulaski Newton Tatman. They had 8 children, three of whom died in infancy. She died from cancer at the home of a daughter in Kokomo, Indiana.
