Son of William & Cora Teague Buckner; widower of Mary Walker Buckner, who died in 1983.

He was a retired farmer and a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.

Herman was survived by two daughters and a son; two sisters, Ollie Walker and Maggie Frisbee, both of Marshall; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

His funeral was held on Tuesday, October 19, 1993 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home.

Burial: Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery.
