Nancy Conaway is the daughter of John Spann Conaway (1795-1868) and Hannah Randall (1798-1868). She was married to Peter Hibbs on 05 Feb 1856 in Marion Co., WV. Together, their children include:

Obituary

Nancy Conaway was born August 18, 1835, and died at her home in Seymour, Iowa, August 26, 1913, aged 78 years eight days.

She was united in marriage to Peter Hibbs in February 5, 1856. Mr. & Mrs. Hibbs moved to Illinois just after the war and three years later came to Iowa and located in Wayne County on 80 acres which now forms the South part of the city of Seymour.

To them were born twelve children. Six of the children preceded her to the other world: David, Nathan, Ella, and Lizzie, two children died in infancy. The living children are: Mrs. Millie Moore, Plano, Iowa; Mrs. Arthelia Hole, Jerome, Iowa; Mrs. Dillie Moore, Centerville, Iowa; Jasper, Newton of Hiteman, Iowa and Luther. All of these were present at the funeral which was held from the late home Thursday August 28, at 2 p.m. The services were conducted by A.E. Clemens and attended by a large number of citizens, many among them had known the deceased for years, and neighbors and relatives who shared the loss with the bereaved family.

Deceased leaves behind the immediate family 41 living grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Burial in Southlawn.
