AMBROSE MEYER

Ambrose Meyer, 72, retired county farmer, who has been making his home with a daughter, Mrs. Harry McMunn of Chilton, died this morning at the Holy Family hospital, where he had been a patient the past week.

He was born in Germany in 1872 and when a boy accompanied his parents to this county. He located in the town of Two Rivers and in 1914 married Miss Ann Barts. They located on a farm in that town. Mr. Meyer had been making his home with his children.

Survivors are five daughters, Clara of this city, Mrs. Reynold Vollendorf of route 5, Manitowoc, Mrs. George Engeldinger of Denmark; Mrs. Harry McMun and Mrs. George Streckert of Chilton; a son, Cpl. Edward Meyer stationed at Ft. Benning, Ga.; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home, and at 10 o'clock at Mishicot, the Rev. Joseph Van Bogart officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Cross cemetery.

The body may be viewed at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday.

According to information in the 1900 US Census, Ambrose Meyer was a 27 year old farm laborer living at home on the farm with his father Wenzel, mother Katie and brother Rudolph. It also states his whole family was born in Bohemia and he was born in Jan, 1873.
