Emma (Kinne) Tryon, 96, of Main Street, South Glastonbury, widow of Ralph G. Tryon Sr., died Monday (Sept. 27) at her daughter's home in Andover.
Born in South Glastonbury, she had been a lifelong resident. She was a communicant of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, South Glastonbury, a member of the Historical Society and a charter member of the Women's Republican Club, both of Glastonbury, and a member of the Antiquarian and Landmark Society of Connecticut.
She is survived by a son, Charles H. Tryon of South Glastonbury; two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Elizabeth) Bidwell of Andover and Mrs. Gordon (Katharine) Shortsleeves of Mansfield, Mass.; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Ralph G. Tryon Jr.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 2 p.m., in St. Luke's Episcopal Church, South Glastonbury. Burial will be in Old South Cemetery, South Glastonbury. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, South Glastonbury. The Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Tpke., Glastonbury, has charge of arrangements.
