He served a Texas-Louisiana LDS mission from 1949 to 1951. After his mission he married Ada Hardman in the Logan LDS Temple. Five weeks later, he left home to fight in the Korean War. Lamont has worked many different jobs, many of them in farming. He has been a potato farmer, a mink farmer, and a dairy farmer. He served as secretary and water master of the Nibley Blacksmith Fork Irrigation Company. He worked for many years as a custodian at South Cache Middle School and Macey’s supermarket.
