Son of Samuel Anderson and Eleanor McCullough.

Co. E 100th PA - Roundhead Regiment
The son of Samuel & Eleanor (McCullough) Anderson, in 1860 he was a farmer presumably living in Montgomery Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, although he is not found in that census.

A Civil War veteran, he was drafted and mustered into federal service at Chambersburg February 22, 1865, as a private with Co. E, 100th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company July 24, 1865.

He married Henrietta "Harriet" Rasp and fathered Emma Aquila (b. 09/22/79 - married John David Buterbaugh), Alfretta (b. 02/27/81 - married Martin W. Truax), Chester Allen (b. 10/25/86), Mary Alberta (b. 05/21/91 - married Roy Franklin Stouffer), and Archibald O. (b. 03/04/95). He died in Peters Township, Franklin County, from "mitral stenosis [and] arteriosclerosis."
