Lt. Bridgeport Police Dept. A member of the department since August 1936. In December 19 38 he was injured when his police cycle collided with an auto. December 14, 1954 he was stricken with a heart attack while on desk duty at the second precinct station.
Retired in 1957 at age 44 on the basis of disability and granted him a pension. Lieutenant Lawson has been commended twice once in 1940 when it captured a youth responsible for a series of breaks and pocketbook snatching crimes in 1946 when he apprehended a prisoner who had escaped from the New Haven County jail carrying a loaded weapon
