Wylina H. (Evert) Kerl age 92, beloved matriarch of her family, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital, in Madison, Wisconsin.

She was born on October 3, 1922 to William and Laura (Ketelboeter) Evert. She was a graduate of Mazomanie High School. In 1948, she married Norbert Kerl at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They raised their four children in Black Earth. As a family, they spent summers travelling the U.S. in their travel trailer and visited nearly all 50 states. They also travelled to East Germany many times to visit relatives.

Wylina devoted her life to caring for her family. She was a Christian woman whose faith was strong. She was a member of New Heights Lutheran Church and its women’s group in Black Earth. She enjoyed travelling, genealogy, gardening and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children: Karalee (Gene) Turk of Mazomanie, Daniel Kerl of Madison, Dianne (Jerry) Poe of Black Earth, and David (Judy) Kerl of Mineral Point; grandchildren Michelle (Conrad) Masshardt, Melissa (John) Dimpfl, Jennifer (Nathan) Brown, and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Turk; Amy (Kerl) Taylor , Andrea Kerl; and Aaron (Sarah) Kerl; Nathan (Anne) Poe; and Joshua and Danielle Kerl; great-grandchildren, Lorelei, Lance, and Annelise Masshardt; Trevor and Levi Dimpfl, Alexandria and Camden Brown; Addison, Olivia, and Blake Turk; Katie Poe; and Johnathan Kerl; sister-in-law Berneice (Vincent) Murphy; brother-in-law Robert (Delores) Kerl.

Wylina was preceded in death by her loving husband Norbert, (August 26, 2012), her parents, her siblings: Franklin Evert, Olive Danz, Ellen Anderson, and Carl Evert, Sr.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church Media Ministry, Black Earth Public Library or to the family who will designate a charity at a later date.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at New Heights Lutheran Church in Black Earth, WI with Rev. Rob Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Oakhill Cemetery in Black Earth. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the ELLESTAD CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 1710 Center St., Black Earth, WI.
