FORT WORTH (AP) — Murder charges were lodged Friday against J. Loyd Parker Jr in the shooting death of his father, a member of a tragedy-marred but socially prominent Fort Worth family.
Dist. Atty. Doug Crouch said the burly, 44-year-old defendant admitted pumping four bullets into his father, 74, during an argument at the elder Parker's fashionable home.
A gardener discovered the bullet-riddled body in the kitchen Thursday morning.
Crouch said it was his opinion that "psychiatric help for the defendant is very definitely indicated."
