Mrs. Barbara Ann Royals Smith Boyd, age 78 of Zebulon, passed away at her home, November 7, 2014, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Boyd was born in Griffin, Georgia on April 13, 1936. She was a homemaker and a member of North Griffin Congregational Holiness Church. Mrs. Boyd led church services for over 30 years at Sun Bridge.
Mrs. Boyd was predeceased by her parents, Reverend Henry Frank Royals and Rena Drummond Royals; husband, Donald Boyd; one grandson; sisters, Lorene Cardell, Beatrice Blackwell, Mary Landers, Maebelle Norton, Doris Head; brothers, Reverend James Royals, Leonard Royals, Clinton “Bunny” Royals, and William Ray Royals.
Survivors include daughters, Kathy Saye, Deborah Coker, Karen Curry, Denise Philbeck, Missy McKinley; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Odessa Wilder, Margie Kelly; brother, Nathaniel Royals.
Visitation for Mrs. Barbara Boyd will be on Monday, November 10, 2014 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at North Griffin Congregational Holiness Church on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 12:00pm. Reverend Gene Luke and Reverend Jerry Brooks will officiate. Interment will follow in Griffin Memorial Gardens.
