Our loving husband, father, and grandfather, Sterling Louis Burch, age 85 of Pleasant Grove, Utah died May 31, 2011 of natural causes. He was born Jan. 3, 1926 in Provo, Utah to Claudius H. and Annie Ferguson Burch. Married Joy Mae Smith, Nov. 20, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Sterling served in the Army in Italy during the Korean War. For 25 years he worked in the construction industry and supervised construction for the LDS Church, residing in England, Tahiti, Idaho, and Maine. He served in the church as Bishop, member of the High Council, Gospel Doctrine Instructor, and Scoutmaster, He served many missions throughout his life; Palestine Syria, British Isles,Mongolia, Canada, (supervising the Regina Temple) and Armenia. He was also a temple worker in the Boise, Korea, and Mt. Timpanogos Temples.

Survived by his wife, Joy of Pleasant Grove, two sons and two daughters, Scott Louis Burch, Steven Andrew Burch, Connie Burch Tregeagle, and Janet Burch Giles, 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. Also survived by his twin brother Stan and sister Barbara.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 12:00 noon in the Timpanogos 3rd Ward chapel, 435 E. 500 N., Pleasant Grove, Utah. Friends and family may call at the church for viewing Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and also Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery with military honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
