Born July 9, 1924, in Scott County, he was the son of Ray and Vera (Sanders) Adams. On Aug. 17, 1946, he married Maxine Adams, and she survives.
Mr. Adams had been a salesman at the former Stonefish, Glasson and Nankivell Chevrolet, Shelbyville. He had also been a real estate agent in Shelbyville and had owned Adams Chevrolet in Delphi for 16 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Adams was a member of First United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge and American Legion, all of Shelbyville, and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Board of Realtors.
Survivors include his wife, Shelbyville; a son, Douglas Adams, Columbus; a daughter, Pam Wilson, Greenwood; three brothers, Jim Adams, Muncie, Lowell Adams, Shelbyville, and Bob Adams, Morristown; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A son, a daughter, a brother and a sister preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with the Rev. Bob Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
