Patricia Ann Montgomery of Granger and formerly of Austin passed peacefully away on September 23, 2009.
She was born in St. Paul, MN, on July 23, 1943, to John and Emily Kane. She married Ron Montgomery in 1960 and moved to Texas to begin their life together. They were blessed with three sons and a daughter.
Pat worked as a civilian employee for the Austin Police Department and retired with over twenty years of service. She and Ron owned and operated several shops and flea markets, making friends all over the central Texas area. Pat was a free spirit who loved animals, butterflies, cooking, and most of all, her family. She enjoyed nothing more than having friends and family over to eat, laugh and spend time together. She was a talented seamstress, a wonderful cook and a serial talker. Pat loved having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren over to the house and being an active part of their lives. She was a generous caregiver that spent much of her time looking after others. Our lives will never be the same without her, and she will be missed every day.
Pat is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Ron; son, Ronnie Montgomery and his wife Sherry; son, Russ Montgomery and his wife Chris; daughter, Katrina Montgomery and her fiancé, Bobby; her siblings, Jack, Bill, Penny, Dick and Tim; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, John and Emily Kane, and her son Randy.
A memorial service will be held Monday, September 28, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., in the Colonial Chapel at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, Austin. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org
