Adeline Louise was the 4th of 6 children of Christian Paulson and Petrine Nykreim Paulson. Adeline or "Addie" as she was called, was born in Ulen, MN. About 1909 when her parents moved to Moorhead, MN where her father had just been elected to office of Clay County Treasurer.
--- About 1924 Addie and her family moved to Los Angeles, Calif. where Addie became involved in acting. She loved acting and the theatre and had been active in her High School theatre groups. Addie was becoming part of the upcoming Hollywood scene and had met and became friends with Louise Fazenda prior to Louise's divorce with Noel M Smith (Addie's future husband). Louise and Noel divorced in 1927 and Noel and Addie married abt 1930. Louise, Addie and Noel remained good friends.
--- 1930 through the 1940's was a boom time for Noel's screen writing and directing. Addie and Noel was part of the Hollywood life, parties, overseas trips, and lots of travel to scout out places to shoot the next film. Both Addie and Noel loved animals. Noel was an avid dog trainer, and they both loved to ride their horses.
-- My mom told me that both Addie and Noel were very good to Addie's mother Petrine, and were a favorite of all their nieces and nephews. Addie and Noel did not have any children of their own.
--- Unfortunately the Hollywood life style caught up to her - Addie died late New Years Eve, Dec 31, 1952, from alcohol poisoning. Noel died three years later in 1955.
