Mr. Bankhead was born July 21,1932 in Blackstock, SC and was a son of the late William McLin Bankhead and Esther McKeown Bankhead. He was a graduate of Great Falls High School class of 1950 and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Bankhead was retired from Duracell in Lancaster and a retired farmer. He was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church and a 50-year member of Great Falls Masonic Lodge #277.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Patti” Flegel Bankhead; one son, Karl McLin Johnson and wife Anne Marie of Heath Springs, one daughter, Judith Bankhead of Blackstock; three grandchildren, Kelly Blackmon (Cory) of Heath Springs, Clay Johnson (Casey) of Buford, Ga., and Garrett Borgaro of Rock Hill; and two great-grandchildren, Bailey Blackmon and Brooks Johnson.
