Anne Clay Thomas "A.T." Baldwin, 68 years and 8 days of age, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, August 20th, 2014.

Anne was born in Paris, Kentucky on August 12th, 1946, daughter of the late Clarence Thomas Baldwin and Anne Clay Hinkle Baldwin. Anne and was a proud, lifelong Kentuckian. After graduating from Paris High School and Transylvania University, she obtained her Masters of Education from the University of Louisville. She was a lifelong educator who devoted a substantial part of her career to children with special needs, particularly those suffering from chemical dependency and mental illness.

Anne had numerous interests. She was a member of the Beta Zeta Chapter of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, as well as a member of both the Children and Daughters of the American Revolution. Her free time was divided amongst her family, her beloved pets, and travelling the world, most recently a life affirming trip to India in 2012. Anne was a lifelong parishioner at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, through which she completed the Education for Ministry program, one among many other spiritual studies. Throughout all of Anne's physical and spiritual journeys, her family homestead, Buknore, was always her favorite place to return home to with her numerous four legged friends.

Anne was survived by two children, Thomas Barrow Stephens (and Boyce Leigh) of Lexington, Kentucky and Nancy Lindley Phillips (and Mark Dudley, Jr.) of Nicholasville, Kentucky; her three adoring grandchildren, Mark Dudley Phillips, III, Elizabeth Barrow Buchanan Stephens, and Robert Walker Phillips; one brother, Boone Buckner Baldwin (and Rebecca); one niece, Amy Baldwin Sommer; two godchildren, Gilbert Morrison Ellis, III and Russell Daniel Ellis; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.

Also predeceasing and surviving are her canine friends, too numerous to mention, but all beneficiaries of her never failing love and affection.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Thomas Baldwin and Anne Clay Baldwin; and her beloved aunts and uncle, Dr. Nancy Hinkle Holland, Susan Taliaferro Hinkle, Mary Hinkle Hoffman, and Buckner Hinkle, Sr.

Funeral services were held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Paris, Kentucky on August 23rd, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. with Reverend Chris Brannock-Warner and the Reverend Michael Carlisle officiating. Her honorary pallbearers were: Mrs. Janine Denton Auslander, Mrs. Ann Boyd Brandow, Mrs. Barbara Daniel Ellis, and Mrs. Woodford Reynolds Henegar. The Hinton-Turner Funeral Home in Paris, Kentucky was in charge of the arrangements for Anne.

THIS IS A TRIBUTE IN MEMORY OF A.T.,

If you could see me now you wouldn't shed a tear, Though you may not understand why I'm no longer there. Remember my spirit, that is the real me because I'm still very much alive, I've just been set free. Oh, if you could only see!

I have held our Father's face and I've touched my Savior's hand. All of Heaven's angels rejoiced as I entered the promised land. Beyond the gates of pearl I've walked on the golden streets.

I've touched the walls of jasper and dipped my foot in the crystal sea. The beauty is beyond words and nothing could compare, I've even seen our Lords mansion and someday I'll meet you there. Let Jesus be your guide because "His Word" will show you the way. So please don't cry because we will meet again someday.
