Ronald E. Dunning, 67, of Pontiac, Illinois passed away at 3:45 p.m. Monday (Nov. 10, 2014) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Ronald was born in Joliet on Jan. 24, 1947, a son of Clarence B and Betty C. Hicks Dunning. He married Virginia “Jean” Welch on June 9, 1972 in Pontiac. She survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Ronald (Alisia) Dunning, Jamie (Susan) Dunning, Cory (Teresa) Dunning and Shawn (Angela) Dunning; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a sister, Betty Jean Decker.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rodney Lee Dunning; daughter, Starr Amour and his brother, Donald Dunning.

Ronald attended school in Cornell and then served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1970. He retired from Exelon Corp. in Braidwood. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pontiac, where he served in many roles including property maintenance.
