Joseph J. Andrewsky Jr., 71, of Frackville, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at his residence with his family by his side.
Born in Ashland, he was a son of the late Jospeh J. Andrewsky Sr. and Martha Flickinger.
He attended Frackville schools.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Joseph was a truck driver for 55 years, traveling more than 4 million miles without an accident. He drove long distance and local routes for several companies and last worked for Karchner Trucking, Hazelton.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union and was active with the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue. He enjoyed country music and going to Cape May, N.J.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Robin Brecker Frantz; and twin brothers, George and John Reing, and infant brother, Ronald Brecker.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 16 years, Lynn Mitchell Andrewsky, Frackville; five children; John Andrewsky and wife, Lisa, Shenandoah Heights, Joseph Andrewsky, Medford, Ore., Virginia Yezulinas, William Penn, Jeff Andrewsky and fiancee, LeeAnn Cotten, Frackville, and Brian Andrewsky and companion, Tracey Linn, a caregiver, Lost Creek; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Barry Brecker, Gordon; three sisters, Grace Palina and twin sisters, Ruth and Rose Brecker, all of Frackville; nieces and nephew; and his faithful dog, Blaze, who was always by his side.
Religious services were held at Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville. Interment with military honors was in Ebenezer Cemetery, Shoemakersville. Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville had charge of arrangements. Visit www.gricoskifuneralhome.com.
