Lee Carey "Carey" Crenshaw was the son of Cornelius "Doc" Crenshaw 1848 – 1918 and Mary Ann "Mollie" Burleson 1857 – 1953. His known siblings were: Cora E. Crenshaw 1873 – 1968; Millie Rachael Crenshaw 1875 – 1931; John J. Crenshaw 1878 – 1918; Mattie Crenshaw 1883 – 1933; Marshal C Crenshaw 1885 – 1938; Ora A Crenshaw 1888 – 1964 and Kyle Jack Crenshaw 1898 – 1976.

On May 18, 1905 he chose to marry Mary Ellen "Mum" Burns in Carrizo Springs, Dimmit, Texas. From this marriage the following known children were born: Fay Crenshaw 1906 – 1926; Roy Don Crenshaw 1907 – 1938; Ray Crenshaw 1908; Lucile Crenshaw 1910 – 1988 and Lee Norman Crenshaw 1911 – 1983.

The 1910 cinsus found Carey and Mum living in rural Dimmit Co., Texas. He was employed as a laborer for a Well Company. Three children had joined the family.

In April 1911 Carey passed away. At this time it is a mystry how he met his demise. Mary Ellen was about 4 months pregnant. A burial site was selected for him in the Leakey Floral Cemetery, Leakey, Real County,Texas where he "Rests in Peace."
