A native of Colleton County, SC; son of the late Philip Lorraine Bootle (1872–1963) and Laura Lilla Benton Bootle (1873–1953); husband of Ruth George Bootle (1904–1993).
Former owner of Bootle Sign Company; member of Southside Baptist Church; a Mason; resident of Spartanburg since the late 1920's.
Other survivors include his son, Benjamin Thomas "Benny" Bootle, Jr. (1931–1996); daughter, Nancy Anne Bootle Hall (1929–2014); sisters, Laura Lota Bootle (1898–1995) and Ina Bootle Smith (1904-2003); brothers, Judge William Augustus Bootle (1902–2005) and William Oliver "Sammy" Bootle (1907–1998); eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Also predeceased by his brother, Philip Luther Bootle (1900–1956).
Funeral services were held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 29, 1983, at Southside Baptist Church by Dr. Gene Adams; burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends from 7:00 - 9:00 pm, Friday, October 28, 1983, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Memorials could be made to the Southside Baptist Church building fund.
