Obituary.

Farley—Ann Jane Curry was born in the county of Sligo, parish of Drumcliff, Ireland, May 3rd, 1821; was married in Monroe county, Indiana, November 14th, 1841, to W. T. Farley, and died at the "old pioneer home" near Osceola, Iowa, Sunday morning, September 8th, 1895, aged seventy-four years, four months and five days.

Thus another pioneer mother of Clarke county is gone, she having located here with her husband and then small family in 1851. She lost her mother in early life, and was brought up by Mr. and Mrs. Lemon. She was the mother of nine children, all of whom, except Alice and Elbert and her aged companion who preceded her, were with her and saw her laid to rest in the Ridge cemetery where so many of her old friends are buried. Although an invalid for many years she had a large circle of friends who were greatly attached to "Aunt Jane." She was of that quiet, unassuming disposition which goes to make a true and appreciated friend. By her family she was honored and revered as only the best can be, and many times they will refer to the lessons of early piety and truthfulness that she and that father who preceded her two years, instilled into their minds while young.

She became a member of the M. P.church at an early age and remained such through life. Although deprived by poor health for so long a time from attending its services, she was a living example in her meek and quiet way, of a true Christian. This was exemplified by her patience during her last illness. She was a great sufferer but never murmured. She had in her last few months told of her tired feeling and hoped that she might be at rest. That hope is realized and that rest will be attained by her. She hath fought the good fight, henceforth a crown awaiteth her.

The funeral services were conducted at her late residence Tuesday, September 10th by Rev's. Sparks and Infield.
