Jerry E. Hamilton, 75 of Canton, Missouri died Thursday, November 13, 2014 at his home in Canton.

The son of Walter “Red” and Ruth (Hibbard) Hamilton was born on August 19, 1939 in Peoria, Illinois.

He was united in marriage to Beverly Thomas on October 24, 1964 in the Salem United Evangelical Church at Quincy, Illinois.

Jerry attended the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Canton. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea. He was a member of Otto Bruner Post #170 American Legion, American Radio Relay League, Christian Motorcycle Club and a former member of the Quincy Amateur Radio Club. He was a dog lover and liked to hunt, fish, and be outdoors and spend time with family. His ham radio operator call sign KNOI.

He is survived by his wife Beverly A. Hamilton of Canton, Mo.; two daughters, Robyn Horner & husband Bob of Gardner, Kansas and Kelly Focht & husband Ric of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three grandchildren, Dylan and Alyssa Seaman of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Lyndsey Horner of Gardner, Kansas; a sister-in-law, Sharon Easterday & husband Larry of O’Fallon, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Clark Thomas & wife Donna of Columbia, Mo.; and several Nieces & Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon (Palazzo) Beaver.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 3 PM at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Canton with Rev. Amanda Ross and Rev. Maynard Blackwood officiating. Interment with graveside Military Honors by Otto Bruner Post#170 will be in the LaBelle Cemetery, LaBelle, Missouri.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 12:30 until the time of services at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Canton.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel United Methodist Church Youth Group or Otto Bruner Post #170.
