From The Confederate Soldiers of Rockbridge County, Virginia: A Roster
By Robert J. Driver, Jr.

Prior to the Civil, war Andrew was a farmer. He enlisted in the Confederate Army 1 August 1861 in Staunton Va. as Pvt Co.E,52nd Va.Inf.Regt. Wounded at Gaines Mill and Sharpsburg 1862
Transferred to Pvt.,Co.C,1st Va.Cav.Regt. 5/15//1863 He was wounded again and was in Hospital in Charlottesville VA Dec 1863. Andrew was transferred to an invalid unit in 1864 and transferred to a Lynchburg hospital.
He returned to farming in the Natural bridge area until he at Died near Broad Creek in 1895.
