He was born May 4, 1928, in Peoria, a son of Ira and Edna (Flanagan) Burnett.
Surviving are two sisters, Jane (Russell) Hyten of Trivoli and Dorothy Kelly of Brimfield; and sister-in-law, Shirley Burnett of Pekin.
Ray was preceded in death by six brothers, Earnest, Virgil, Robert "Bob," Frank, Earl and Richard; and two sisters, Irene Burnett and Violet Hutchinson.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Ray was an engineer for Fry's Poultry Farm in Peoria for over 25 years.
He was an avid fisherman and loved nature, wild life and animals.
Burial will be in Pottstown Cemetery, with full military rites.
