LaVerta D. Wedemeyer, 77, passed away after an extended illness. She was surrounded by fanily at the time of her death.

She was born to Frank and Marie Reddeman, oldest of six children.

She lived in the Granite Falls/Lake Stevens area her whole life, graduating from Lake Stevens High School in 1947.

She married John Nyman on August 30, 1947. They shared 39 years together and raised their four children in a home filled with love.

After John's death in 1986, she was fortunate to find the second love of her life, Robert Wedemeyer. They were married on January 21, 1989, and had 17 wonderful years together.

LaVerta was a homemaker all her life. She loved to cook, garden, crochet, dig clams at Camano Island, and play cards with familly and friends. She also loved to go camping, making annual treks to Fort Casey, Spectacle Lake, Birch Bay, and Fort Flagler. She lived in the family home on Soper Hill for 54 years, recently selling and moving to Marysville.

She was preceded in death by first husband, John and her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; sons, Jack (Penny) Nyman of Marysville and Fred (Arlene) Nyman of Poulsbo; daughters, Janet (Steve) Klett of Lake Stevens and Carol (Mark) Allen of Everett; step-daughter, Valorie (Bill) Scott of Puyallup; sisters, Phyllis Verlinda, Anna Marie (Channing) Lewis, and Pat (Gene) Taklo; brothers, Frank (Sue) Reddeman, and John Reddeman; and sisters-in-law, Arlene (Ralph) Rohde and Connie (Don) Fisher.

She also leaves 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
