During the Civil War he was in Company G, 15th Alabama Regiment.
He was 20 when he first entered the Confederate Army.
He was wounded at the Battle of Chicamauga and lost his foot, he was then discharged and sent home.
He later joined Company H, 6th Florida Infantry Regiment and served as an Army supply train driver until the end of the War.

He married 1st Elizabeth J. Graham and 2nd Mrs. Mary E. Martin. He had no children. He became a farmer in Walton Co., Fl.

The 1910 Florida Census, Portland, Walton Co. FL. Uriah Woodham- 68 is married to Mary E. -37. His 2nd marriage, her 3rd. They have been married 1 year and she has had 2 children, both are living. His stepdaughter is Zula Lee Shiver - 18.
He is a mail carrier and they were all born in Alabama.
