Conduct Services For Dan W. Doss At Louisville

LOUISVILLE. Miss. Services were conducted at 2:30 p. m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church U. S. for Dan W. Doss, owner of the Doss Motor Co., Louisville and Winona, who was found mortally wounded at his desk at the motor company here early Friday and died about 30 minutes after having been admitted to the Louisville hospital.

A coroner's jury returned a verdict that Mr. Doss met his death accidentally from a .38 caliber pistol bullet. He was found unconscious by his nephew, J. D. Blackwood, and his brother. Dee Doss, and rushed to the hospital by Harris ambulance.

The Rev. C. P. Thrailkill of Union officiated at the rites, assisted by Louisville ministers and interment followed in a local cemetery.

Mr. Doss was born in Louisville and married the former Miss Willie Sue Hull Sept. 7, 1921. Active in civic and religious affairs, he was a deacon of the First Presbyterian Church US, a Shriner, a past president of the Louisville Rotary Club and was a member of the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the Engineers in France, and during World War II was personnel director of the government's shell loading plant at Prairie, Miss.

He leaves his wife, Louisville; one daughter, Mrs. G. P. Woodard, Winona: three brothers, Dee Doss, Louisville, David Doss, Brooksville, and Carl Doss, Memphis; four sisters Mrs. T. L. Balckwood, Louisville; Mrs. Dot Transue and Mrs. Beryl James, both of Memphis, and Mrs. Harold Thorn, Decatur, Ga., and two grandchildren.
