Married Mary Krska in Bohemia. Had at least two children in Bohemia (Mary b 1857 and Joseph b 1860) before emigrating to Minnesota. Daughter Elizabeth (b 1863) was born there. Came to Chicago between 1863 and 1867. Had at least four more children in Chicago - Frank (b 1867), Minnie (b 1872), Anna (b 1874) and Agnes (b 1876). Lived for many years at 75 O'Brien Street.
