David Wayne Bailey Jr., age 57, went to be with the Lord Jesus on October 9, 2014 at Flagler Hospital. He was born and raised in Stuart, Florida and lived there for most of his life until moving to St. Augustine in 2004. Simply put, David was “all about Jesus”. His turning point came on his deathbed 20 years ago when he made an agreement with God that if He would save him from the certain death he was facing that he would serve Him for the rest of his life. After his miraculous healing, David lived the rest of his life faithful to the promise he made to God. He loved Jesus first and foremost in his life and enjoyed serving Him as a Pastor and Evangelist, and founded and led Integrity Ministries in St. Augustine. David was called to reach out to the “down and out”. He was a godly husband, a loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Bailey of St. Augustine; daughters, Alison Bailey of Port St. Lucie, Rachel Smith of Kansas; sons, Tommy Duncan of Tampa, Joel Johnson of Ft. Pierce; step father, Dale Ulrich of Rohnert, California; sisters, Audrey Bailey of Port St. Lucie, Lester Bailey of Port St. Lucie and 6 grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his parents, David W. Bailey and Margaret Ulrich, and a sister, Sandra Cassity.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Evergreen Cemetery, 505 N Rodriquez, St. Augustine, FL 32084. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, at the Meeting Place at the Ponce de Leon Mall, 2121 US Hwy 1, South, St. Augustine, Florida 32086.
