On July 25, 1945, he married Mickie Louise Lewis in Sanger, where they made their home and raised their daughter. They were married for 58 years. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was a lifetime member of the Bolivar Masonic Lodge #418. He worked at Bell Helicopter as a painter and decaler for more than 30 years until his retirement in 1990.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mickie; a sister, Betty Lu Marshall; a brother, Lester Marshall; and a niece, Leslie Marshall. Those surviving him are his daughter, Pam, of Sanger; two grandsons, Chuck Harvey of Sanger and Mark Harvey and his wife, Vickie, of Denton; five great-grandchildren, Brooke Arroyo, Amber Harvey, Ross Hendricks, Kristin Hendricks, and Tanner Hendricks; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Rheba Marshall, of Sanger; and niece, Christine Marshall Waggoner, of Sanger.
