Richard served his Country in the Army during the Korean War.
Richard was united in marriage to Marian A. Richmond on August 1, 1959. Richard worked at CATA (Capital Area Transportation Authority) in Lansing as their First Class Diesel Mechanic, retiring after 34 years; prior to working at CATA, he worked for 11 years at Motor Wheel Corporation also located in Lansing, he and Marian moved from East Lansing to Clare 8 years ago.
Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and loved ones, his hobbies included landscaping his lawn, repairing automobiles and listening to Johnny Cash.
Richard is survived by his wife Marian; children Thomas of Lansing and Tanya Davis of Columbus; a sister Nora Jodway of Park Lake; grandchildren Rachel (Ryan) Lynch, Eric (Jerrae) Arrington, Thomas Arrington and Matthew Arrington; 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
In keeping with Richard's wishes cremation has taken place with a Memorial Service to be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or to Heartland Hospice.
Arrangements were handled by the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home.
