Mr. Robert Lloyd Casey, 77, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014.

Mr. Casey’s funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, at Bethel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A Guilford County native, Mr. Casey was born on November 21, 1936, the only child of William Leroy and Pauline Ellington Casey. Following high school he joined the US Air Force. In 1979, he left J.M.D. Contractors to start his own company, R. L. Casey, Inc. and served as president until his retirement in 1998. He and his company served as general contractor for schools and commercial buildings across the state.

He was an active member of Bethel United Methodist church where he served in various capacities including chairman of the finance committee and Sunday School teacher. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #428 in Stokesdale and the Greensboro Scottish Rite bodies. Additionally he served on the Stokesdale Fire Department Board of Directors, and was previously the president of the Cedar Village Homeowners Association at Beech Mountain.

Surviving are his wife, of the home, seven children, fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
