James F. Brisbin, born December 5, 1921, passed away March 14, 2005, at home. He was 83. Jim was a resident of Vallejo for 55 years.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen; three sons, Ken (Ramona), Jim (Mary) and Gary; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Jim served in the U.S. Navy with the Navy Seabees and retired from Grand Auto after 30 years of service.

He was a member of Naval Lodge No. 87 F&AM and a Past Worthy Patron of Silver Star Chapter No. 3 OES.

A memorial service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Castlewood Baptist Church, 3615 Georgia St., Vallejo. All are welcome.

James was the son of Nebraska native Orvetta I. Gates and Iowa native Frank Brisbin; brother of Helen I., Arthur V., Weldon L., Floyd W., Wila J. and Voneta Brisbin.

At the time of the 1930 census, the family was living in Gibbon, Buffalo County, Nebraska.
