Jonesboro, AR - Vivian Johnson Campbell, 97, of Jonesboro went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2008 at Craighead County Nursing Home.

She was born December 20, 1910 in Parsons, Tennessee to the late Mack and Mallie Byrd Johnson.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She was baptized at Buttermilk Bend on Black River in 1927 and was a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Sharum, Arkansas. She worked as a machine operator for Frolic Shoe Factory for twenty-six years. She loved to quilt, garden, read, and cook for her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James B. Campbell; sister, Tressie Hammett; two half-sisters, Gloria Hope Gibson and Reba Jewel Smith; half-brother, Rex Johnson; two grandchildren, Brady Lynn Campbell and Cynthia Gayle Griffin; one great-grandson, Casey Lee Campbell and son-in-law, Charles Griffin.

She is survived by two daughters, Violet Campbell of the home and Jean Griffin of Lonoke, Arkansas; three sons and their wives, Joe Mack and Dena Campbell, Brady and Wanda Campbell and Kenneth and Zelda Campbell, all of Jonesboro; 9 grandchildren, Cheryl Popper, Buster Campbell, Benny Campbell, Debbie Liles, Blake Campbell, Keith Campbell, Chris Campbell, Charlotte Warnick and Kerri Felts; 19 great-grandchildren, Dana Hewitt, Kristy Wilson, Claire Rosten, Shanna Reed, Kate Popper, Tiffany Horton, Bryan Campbell, David Liles, Bryan Keith Campbell, Steven Campbell, Katey Campbell, Lacey Campbell, Kyley Campbell, Brooke Campbell, Lane Campbell, Avery Felts, Mallie Felts, Dustin and Douglas Hundley; 3 great-great granddaughters, Kenzley Wilson, Saraya Hewitt, Kayla Reed; step-great-great grandson, Nicholas Reed; half-brother, Narl Johnson; half-sister, Yvonne Renfro and along with many nieces, nephews and friends who mourn her passing.

Visitation will be Friday, May 23, 1:30-3:00 p.m. at Gregg Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

A celebration of her blessed life will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Hewitt officiating. A tribute will be given by granddaughter Kerri Felts. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Craighead County Nursing Home and the Hospice nurses for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Campbell.
