Peter died at Pittsburg Landing (also known as the battle of Shiloh) and Henry, died at home, after a long illness, both sons having been soldiers in the war of the Rebellion. Wife Rachel died Feb. 1846. Mr. Dow again married Miss Grace Searles of Roxand township, Eaton County.
Mr. Dow served as township supervisor, justice of the pease, representitive of the State Legislature and member of the State Board of Equalization.
