David W. Armstrong, 81, of RD 3 Meadows Road, Taberg, a retired farmer and former employe of Revere's Rome manufacturing Compnay Division, died this morning in Rome Hosptial.
He was the father of Mrs. Leo (Doris) Zike and Mrs. Robert (Ethel) Coy both of Rome. Mr. Armstrong was born August 14, 1887 in the town of Annsville, son of David and Jane Richard Armstrong. He had been a resident of Taberg most of his life. He married the former Sarah J. Jones in Taberg on September 2, 1914.
Mr. Armstrong retired several years ago. He was of the Methodist faith. Surviving besides his wife and daughters in Rome are two sons, Francis D. Armstrong, Kissimmee, Florida and Ervin L. Armstrong, Los Angeles, California; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon 1:30 at the Griffin and Aldridge Funeral Home, Rome with the Reverend David N. Boswell officiating. Interment will be in Wright Settlement Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
