Fred J. Martin, aged 50 years, died Friday morning at 6:50 o'clock at Colorado Springs, Colorado, after an illness of several months of tuberculosis. The body was shipped to Wright City, arriving there Sunday afternoon. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church, of which Mr. Martin was a member, Monday afternoon. Rev. J. L. Fenter, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Wright City cemetery, and was in charge of the Wright City lodge, the deceased having been a member of this lodge a number of years. He was also a 32nd degree Mason.
Mr. Martin had made his home in Wright City the last twelve years, and was highly respected and esteemed by all who knew him. He was employed several years with The Choctaw Lumber Company store there, later taking charge of the company hotel, which he operated six years. He became ill with tuberculosis several months ago, and had only been in Colorado a few months when death came.
Deceased is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Clint Lambert, of Broken Bow; one brother, King Martin, and a sister, Mrs. E. R. Taylor, Fordyce, Ark.
The bereaved family have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their great sorrow.
