Nov. 14, 1916 - Jan. 9, 2005
Bessie Mae Quint peacefully passed away in Vacaville on Jan. 9, 2005.
Bessie was born to Ralph and Bessie Johnson in Tucson, Ariz. There she met and married her high school sweetheart, Roy T. Quint Jr. They had a wonderful life together.
Bessie devoted her life to being a perfect military wife. She was strong, determined, witty and engaging. Their career and zest for life took them on adventures to all corners of the world. When it was time to move, Bessie never complained; she jumped into the changes with full force, always looking forward to new places and friends.
Bessie and Roy settled in Vacaville more than 45 years ago. She connected with Vacaville, where she enjoyed the warm people and the hot weather. Bessie loved to cook and to entertain, oftentimes you would find her at one of her many bridge clubs, the Saturday Club or at the Officers Club. She also spent time at Republican or city functions.
Bessie and her husband, Roy, lived life to its fullest. They changed many lives, made sure the people they met knew how much they were cherished and made many, many lifelong friends along the path.
Bessie was predeceased by her loving husband, Roy, in August 1999. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathie Valdez and Jo Ann Shucart; sons-in-law, Lee Valdez and Mike Shucart; five wonderful grandchildren, Rick Valdez, Steve Valdez, Lisa Smith, Jill Norckauer, William Norckauer; and six super-super-great-grandchildren.
She is now with Roy, but she will truly be missed by her family and many friends. Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Vaca Hills Chapel. Pastor Lester Seto will officiate. Burial will be private in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.
