Mrs. Starr, born in Saint Clair, was the former Elsie Symons. She was a daughter of the late Thomas H. and Sarah (Davis) Symons.
Mrs. Starr taught in the East Norwegian Township Schools prior to her marriage and had been teaching in Wayne Township Schools since 1962. She was a member of the Primitive Methodist Church, Saint Clair; Daughters of America, Schuylkill Haven; and the PSEA.
Surviving are her husband, Holland E. Starr; a brother, Walter, Minersville; a sister, Elizabeth, wife of Robert Brinich, Deer Lake, nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday afternoon at the convenience of the family from the Robert A. Evans Funeral Home, Port Carbon. Rev. Tom Watkins, Saint Clair, will officiate. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Pottsville.
