Baynor Foy Elston was born in Jacksonville, Florida to parents from North Carolina, Maude Baynor and Paton Foy, who moved back to North Carolina when Baynor was three years old. Mrs. Elston grew up in Kinston, North Carolina and earned a BA degree in Dramatic Art from UNC Chapel Hill and was a member of the Carolina Playmakers. Following graduation she performed as a professional puppeteer with Little Jack's Puppet Show, an educational feature of the NC state Board of Heath. In 1950 she was in the original cast of Unto These Hills, the Cherokee Indian drama at Cherokee, NC. After returning to UNC and completing credits for primary teacher certification she taught in Greensboro, NC.
In 1953 Baynor moved to Fort Lauderdale with her first husband, William Lee Cutts, and continued teaching even after the birth of their two children. Following Mr. Cutts' death she completed graduate study in Reading Education at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. She retired after teaching for thirty years and became active in community theatre. She appeared in several television commercials and movies in south Florida and became a member of Screen Actors Guild.
Mrs. Elston was also a member of Professional Actors Association of Florida, Delta Kappa Gamma, Kappa Delta Pi, United Daughters of the Confederacy and DAR.
Baynor and Lloyd G. Elston were married in 1996 and moved to The Villages in 1999. She was a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church. They moved to The Springs Assisted Living Residence in 2012. Other survivors include her daughter, Laura Cutts Norman of Ocala, her son, Kenneth Lee Cutts of Belleview, grandchildren, Christianna M. Hayward and Edward L. Gabryszek, and great-grandchildren, Matthew Azevedo, Brandon Azevedo, Brianna Azevedo and Destiny Hayward.
