"Phyllis I. Gemes, age 86, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Lincoln Community Care Center. She was born on February 21, 1928 in Holder, Illinois the daughter of John and Edna (Dollard) Sacry.
She grew up in Normal, Illinois and was united in marriage to Lee Elgie Gemes on February 14, 1946 in Normal, Illinois. They made their home in Benton County, Missouri. Unto this union three children were born. Phyllis worked as a caregiver for her family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Later in life she worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide for the Lincoln Community Nursing Home.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lincoln.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, eight siblings and one child lost during pregnancy.
She is survived by three children; William Gemes, and his wife Gail, of Warsaw, Paula Knox, and her husband Jim, of Windsor, Missouri and Maurice Gemes, and his wife Doris, of Lincoln, Missouri, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, two sisters, numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.
Arrangements for her cremation are under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home of Warsaw."
