Edith was born in Imo, now it's Welcome Home, Arkansas on April 24, 1922 to Henry Jackson Oliver and Mary Melinda (Lathum) Oliver, she was the oldest of the eleven children of her parents marriage and she also had two older stepbrothers and one older stepsister.
Preceding her in death was her husband, JN Bohannon, her son John Dwayne Bohannon and her parents, Jack and Mary Oliver and stepbrothers, James and Raymon, and brothers: Harrison, Alexander, Bobby, Billy, Clarence, and stepsister Carmon Beauchamp and sisters, Essie Pauline Hammons and Syble Bohannon.
She married John Nathanuel Bohannon on January 24, 1942 and enjoyed 61 years of marriage before John passed away March 1, 2003 in Arkansas.
Edith is survived by two sisters, Gladys Henningsen of Sumner, Washington and Flora Long of Marysville, California and one brother J. C. Oliver of Marysville, California, two daughters and their spouses: Mary and Billy Mosley and Ann and James Spence of Rancho Murieta, California and a stepson Jimmy and Bonita Bohannon of Branson, Missouri. She has six grandchildren: Melissa (Michael) Flores, Melanie (Ken) Williams of Sacramento, California, Rebecca Rodrigue of Rocklin, California, Rochelle (Bill) Bialcak of Layton, Utah, Jodi (Bob) Gallagher of West Sacramento, John Phillip (Heather) Bohannon of Tracy, California, and 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Edith is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a whole host of family and friends who will miss her greatly.
Edith was a homemaker, but she was whatever she needed to be. She was a talented photographer, storywriter, seamstress, good chef, home remodeler, and a great year after year Oliver Family Reunion planner and organizer.
Edith loved her family with all of her heart.
Edith has donated her body for scientific research to the University of California at Davis hoping that the research will help others in their lifetime.
There are no words to truly describe this beautiful blue-eyed, red headed lady.
She will be missed tremendously and cherished always. A Memorial Service for Edith will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1 pm at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodges, 10124 Coloma Rd, Rancho Cordova, California where she has been a member for many years.
