Dorothy J. Harris Jan. 8, 1953 - Nov. 17, 2014 SOUTH BEND

Dorothy Jean "Dot" Harris, 61, went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2014, at West Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after fighting a prolonged illness.

Dorothy was born January 8, 1953, to Turesia and Charles Bowman Sr. Dorothy accepted the Lord and worshipped at Ardmore LaSalle Church of Christ under the leadership of Pastor Hardie Blake Jr.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories 2 sons: Donnell Bowman of Detroit, Michigan, and Paris Bowman of Houston, Texas; 1 daughter, Delana Pringle of Benton Harbor, Michigan; her mother, Turesia Bowman of South Bend, Indiana; 2 sisters: Renee Harris of Benton Harbor and Lorie (Anthony) Harris of South Bend; 8 brothers, Charles Bowman Jr., Bruce Bowman, and Carl Bowman, all of Benton Harbor, Gene Bowman and Andre Bowman, both of South Bend, Todd (Linda) Bowman of Indianapolis, Indiana, Marc (Feshona) Bowman of Covington, Georgia, and Larry (Stephanie) Bowman of Killeen, Texas; 7 grandchildren: Trajan Smith, Paris Bowman Jr., Tashiana Bowman, Elisha Smith, Jayla Bowman, Braxton Pringle, and Donavan Bowman; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews; and a host of friends including special friends "The Posse" Linda Dawning, Marva Newbill, Alice Carter and Pearl Blake.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Charles Bowman Sr.; maternal grandmother, Mary Forest; paternal grandmother, Ida "Honey" Bowman; and sister, Linda Kay Blackmore.

Sleep on now Dot, take your rest. We all love you, but GOD loves you best. 2 Corinthians 5:8 "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord."
